Exposition of old books and textbooks on medicine
Suppose you are wondering what the textbooks and books on medicine were 100 or more years ago. In that case, you can take a look at the special exposition in the university library. The rare books have been donated by prominent physicians and medical professionals from Varna.
Among the exhibits are books translated from Russian and Bulgarian authors from the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the field of physiology, pharmacology, rehabilitation, forensic medicine, gynecology. The oldest Bulgarian book in the exhibition is from 1870. You can also see the textbooks on surgery of the patron of the university, the first in the country to perform an operation on a wounded heart – Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov.
